Static and flexural fatigue strength tests

The strength results (infinite life load) obtained with the tests carried out by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia, show that MPI implants exceed the level of fatigue to which they are exposed in the mouth, as the components tested under this level of stress have withstood 5,000,000 load cycles without breakage or plastic deformation, complying with the specifications indicated in the UNE-EN ISO 14801 standard.

Torque test

To confirm the high quality of the material and design of MPI implants, several tests were carried out to guarantee the integrity of the implants under the most extreme tightening circumstances and in any clinical case, as long as the drilling protocol indicated by MPI is respected.

Surface tension test

All MPI implants have an Integratec® surface finish and have a hydrophilic behaviour. This surface treatment decreases the contact angle, i.e. it increases the hydrophilic character of the surface.

Biological tests

Biological tests are diagnostic tools suitable for determining the effect of physical and chemical agents on test organisms under specific and controlled experimental conditions…..

Differentiation study with osteoblastic cells

A biocompatibility study of MPI dental implants in the presence of human osteoblastic osteosarcoma MG-63 cells has been carried out to determine both cell viability and cell extension and colonisation studies by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and confocal microscopy. The results of these tests carried out by the Complutense University of Madrid demonstrate the effectiveness of the Integratec® surface treatment for the osseointegration of implants.

Biocompatibility study with osteoblastic cells

A biocompatibility study of MPI dental implants in the presence of human osteoblastic osteosarcoma MG-63 cells was performed to determine the mineralisation and alkaline phosphatase activity of these cells on the implant surface. The results of these tests carried out by the Complutense University of Madrid demonstrate the effectiveness of the Integratec® surface treatment for the osseointegration of implants.

IECM - Static strength and fatigue test

Tests carried out by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia have shown that “MPI Excellence®” conical implants with Morse Cone Internal Connection overcome the level of fatigue to which they are widely exposed in the mouth. The ¨MPI Excellence®¨ is the implant with the highest chewing forces of the MPI implant family.

IPHE - Static Strength Test

The maximum biting force with the incisor teeth varies between 50 and 370 N. Therefore, the results of the static tests are satisfactory because the measured static loads are higher than those expected during normal activity of the set.

IPCM - Fatigue Test

Tests carried out by the Biomechanical Institute of Valencia have shown that “MPI Privilege® Morse Taper Internal Connection implants exceed the level of fatigue to which they are exposed in the mouth by a factor of 5.

IPCM - Surface Tensile Testing

The surface treatment carried out on the MPI Privilege implants reduces the contact angle to a value of 21.1±4.0º, which leads us to conclude that the treatment clearly increases the hydrophilic character of the surface.

IPHE - Fatigue Test

Tests carried out by the Biomechanical Institute of Valencia have shown that “MPI Privilege® External Connection Universal Hexagon implants exceed the level of fatigue to which they are exposed in the mouth by a factor of 5.
