Hydrophilic Properties of the Mpi Privilege Implant System
The test results show that the tension of the implant surface exhibit a hydrophilic behaviour both on the treated surface as on the machined surface. In literature hydrophilic surfaces are taken as those that have a contact angle less than 45 °.
 
In the case of implants MPI Privilege, the analysis showed that the machined surface has a contact angle of 34.3 ± 4.7 °, qualifying therefore as a hydrophilic surface.
 
The surface treatment of the MPI Privilege implants decrease the contact angle to a value of 21.1 ± 4.0 °. We can conclude that the treatment clearly increases the hydrophilicity of the surface.
